Marco Ciampa was born into a musical family in Naples. He graduated with full marks from the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome at the age of seventeen. In October 2006 he won the competition for first oboe for the OGI and consequently attended the 2006/2008 two-year orchestra course at Fiesole. He specialized under the guidance of A. Negroni, F. Di Rosa, T. Indermuhle and D. Orlando. In 2012 he took courses at the Accademia Nazionale di S. Cecilia. He qualified as first and/or second oboe in the following orchestras: the Regionale in Lazio, the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, Maggio Fiorentino and the Teatro Bellini in Catania. He played for a long time in the Cherubini youth orchestra conducted by Riccardo Muti, where he won an audition for first oboe in 2014; with the Teatro S. Carlo in Naples to play the Oboe and English horn and as first oboe for the Regionale in Lazio and the Sinfonica Abruzzese. He has played with soloists and conductors such as A.S. Mutter, L. Kavakos, P. Vernikov, E. Bronzi, O. Mustonen, I. Grubert, V. Mullova, A. Toradze, G. Ferro, R. Muti, K. Pendereckj, J. Tate, N. Paszkowskj, D. Renzetti, J. Webb, J. Conlon, C. Abbado, Z. Mehta, W. Marshall, D. Russell Davies, F. Luisi and E. P. Salonen. As well as playing in orchestras he also plays chamber music, especially in duo with the piano.
