FRANCESCO MARIA PARAZZOLI has played first cello at the del Teatro Comunale in Bologna since 1992. He graduated from the Milan Conservatory under the guidance of R. Filippini and has also taken courses by the maestros A. Janigro, M. Brunello and D. Shafran. For a few years he was cellist in the Trio Matisse, with whom among other things he has played all Beethoven’s trios in the Auditorium of Milan, a number of first performances (trios by M. Kagel, A. Solbiati and L. de Pablo) and recorded trios by Dvorak for Amadeus. Working with the Teatro Comunale in Bologna has allowed him to collaborate with some of the most important conductors, including R. Chailly, D. Gatti, R. Muti, G. Pretre and N. Marriner. Since 2011 he has been teaching repertoire for orchestra at the Bologna Conservatory. Last season he spent, by invitation, several months as first cello at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan.
