Claudia Chelli graduated in viola at the G.B. Martini Conservatory in Bologna under maestro A. Farulli. She specialised in quartet for strings at the “Incontri col Maestro” at the Accademia Pianistica Internazionale in Imola and in the viola with D. Rossi and S. Bratore. She has taken master classes in viola held by H. Bayerle, J. Kussmaul, D. Waskiewicz, L. Ranieri, U. Ulijona, E. Carraro. She has been a member of the Italian Youth Orchestra, the L. Cherubini youth orchestra, the Accademia Orchestra, the Mozart Orchestra and she has played with the the Orchestra dell'Accademia Teatro alla Scala. She has appeared in prestigious concert halls with world famous conductors and soloists such as R. Muti, P. Bellugi, D. Renzetti, V. Ashkenazy, K. Penderecki, J. Axelrod, J. Conlon, W. Marshall, A.S. Mutter, G. Kremer, S. Krylov, M. Maisky, D. Geringas, A. Lonquich, M. Caballé and E. Dindo. She plays in several orchestras and chamber ensembles such as the Teatro Petruzzelli orchestra, the Teatro Comunale philharmonic in Bologna, the A. Toscanini philharmonic, the Teatro La Fenice philharmonic, the Festival Pianistico philharmonic of Brescia and Bergamo, the Colibrì Ensemble, the chamber orchestra of Imola, the philharmonic orchestra of Italy and the G. Donizetti Orchestra. She has also made recordings for Odradek Records with the Colibrì Ensemble and A. Lonquich.
