Biography
Alessandro Fornero began studying the cello with maestro Antonio Mosca and obtained a Suzuki diploma with maestro Marco Mosca in 2010. He went on to earn a Grade I Academic Diploma with top marks at the “G. Verdi” conservatory in Turin in the Cello class held by maestro Massimo Macrì. He has won a number of competitions including First Prize in the 2 nd National Music Competition in the municipality of Cantalupa and First Prize with Scholarship (cello section A-1) in the “Rassegna Nazionale d’Archi Mario Benvenuti” in Vittorio Veneto. He has played with conductors Antonio Mosca, Mario Brunello, Enrico Dindo, Bruno Giuranna, Daniele Gatti and Gianandrea Noseda and played in a number of orchestras including the Teatro Regio Orchestra in Turin, the Teatro Regio philharmonic orchestra of Turin, the LaFil- Milan Philharmonic, the Italian Philharmonic Orchestra and the Turin Philharmonic Orchestra (OFT). While studying at the conservatory he also took a number of specialist courses with Enrico Dindo and Pietro De Maria, Relja Lukic, Luca Magariello, Trio Canon, Amiran Ganz and played in quartet together with maestro Bruno Giuranna.
