He began playing the horn at the age of 13. He studied at the Conservatory in Trento with Vittorio Schiavone and later, having won a scholarship, at the Brass Academy in Alicante with Nury Guarnaschelli. He has taken master classes with Froydis Ree Weckre, Josè Sogorb, Danilo Stagni, Sarah Willis and Stefan Dohr. He has won several national and international competitions in Italy and abroad. He has played in a number of orchestras, such as the Haydn orchestra of Trento and Bolzano, the Verdi orchestra in Milan, the Antonio Vivaldi orchestra, the Leonore orchestra and the Orchestra Nazionale dei Conservatori Italiani. He has played continuously with the Teatro alla Scala in Milan since he was 17 playing with the Scala horn players, the Scala chamber orchestra and the Teatro alla Scala philharmonic. At eighteen he won the competition for first/third horn in the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, universally considered one of the best youth orchestras in the world. He has played for some of the most important conductors in the world, such as Riccardo Chailly, Peter Eötvos, Franz Welser-Möst, Vladimir Jurowski, Fabio Luisi, Myung-whun Chung and Daniel Harding. He has played in most of the prestigious venues in Europe, such as the Barbican Centre in London, the Philharmonie de Paris, the Bartok National Concert Hall in Budapest , the Musikverein in Vienna, the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg and the National Auditorium in Madrid.
