Valentina Cangero, having trained with the maestros Ernesto Tretola and Francesco Pepicelli, graduated with a first with honours from the “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Milan under Matteo Ronchini. She has also taken master classes held by maestros Enrico Bronzi, Gabriele Geminiani, Patrizio Serino and Massimo Macrì. She has won several first prizes in national and international competitions such as the “Visconti” competition in Rome and the “Città di Tarquinia” international competition. She has played first cello in the Italian Youth Orchestra, in the Senzaspine orchestra of Bologna, the Orchestra Internazionale in Rome and the Assisi Chamber Orchestra with which she has played in important theatres and concert halls such as the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and the Suntury Hall in Tokyo, at the Parco della Musica Auditorium in Rome, in the La Verdi Auditorium in Milan, the Teatro dal Verme in Milan and the Manzoni Auditorium in Bologna. She has also worked with musicians of the calibre of Daniele Gatti, Ottavio Dantone, Giovanni Antonini, Kolja Blacher, Giovanni Sollima, Julien Masmondet, Bruno Canino and Boris Belkin.
