Biography
Umberto Aleandri graduated with full marks in 2010; in the following years he achieved grade II academic diplomas for the cello and for chamber music with piano and for strings, all three with first class honours. Very active in chamber music, he graduated from the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and has played with a variety of formations in Italy and abroad, taking part in a number of festivals such as the “Mantua Chamber Music Festival”, the “Festival dei 2 Mondi di Spoleto”, the “Euroclassical”, the “Umbria Music Fest”, the concert seasons of the Accademia Filarmonica Romana, the Filarmonica Umbra and others; in duo he has distinguished himself in competitions such as the “Premio Crescendo” (first prize) and the “Riviera Etrusca” (second prize). In 2009 he played the Andante Cantabile by Tchaikovsky as solo cellist both in the House of Representatives at Montecitorio and in the Teatro Marcello in Rome. He has played first cello in a number of orchestras such as the International Opera Theater of Philadelphia, the youth orchestra of Bonn, the Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana, the Perugia Chamber Orchestra and the Abruzzese youth orchestra (which he also played with for the G8 in 2009); recently he has played with the Solisti Aquilani, the Orchestra Leonore and many others.
