Marco Mauro Moruzzi began studying the cello under Fausto Solci, and later also studied under Marco Decimo. From 2016 he attended the “G.Verdi” Conservatory in Milan with Graziano Beluffi and since 2018 with Marco Scano. He has also taken master classes with Giovanni Gnocchi and Sandra Belic. He regularly plays in orchestras such as the Italian Youth Orchestra, the Orchestra Nazionale dei Conservatori Italiani (first cello), the IMF Orchestra (first cello) with which he made his debut as soloist in 2016 in Cremona cathedral, with the Bruckner Akademie Orchester of Munich and with LaFil-Milan Philarmonic. He has also played with I Musici di Parma as soloist during the Salso Summer Class & Festival. He has entered and won a number of national and international competitions including the Concorso Città di Cremona, the Concorso Internazionale Musicale Città di Pesaro, the Concorso Internazionale Città di Treviso, the Concorso Musicale Città di Giussano, in the Coop Music Awards and the Premio del Conservatorio in Milan. He has played with renowned conductors and soloists including Daniele Gatti, Ya-Wen Kohler Yang, Marco Pierobon, Jordi Mora, Susanne Bernhard, Giovanni Sollima, Giampaolo Bisanti, Tito Ceccherini, Francesco De Angelis and Carlo Maria Parazzoli.
