Laura Hernandez Garcia began studying the viola the “Garcia Matos” conservatory in Plasencia with maestro R. Bofill and graduated in 2010 with maestro J.M Roman During the years she studied in Spain she took lessons with maestros such as Kennedy Moretti (Escuela Reina Sofia) the Cuarteto Casals and the Cuarteto Quiroga. In 2008 she won third prize in the Concurso Nacional de Camara Teodoro Ballo, with the “Akian” piano quintet. She has taken specialisation courses and master classes with Jurgen Kussmaul, Hartmut Rohde, Avri Levitan, Pedrag Katanic, T. Masurenko, S. Zanobini, Jorge Winkler, Simone Briatore and Danilo Rossi, and has played in chamber ensembles with musicians such as Marco Rizzi, Mario Brunello, Andrea Lucchesini, Luca Ranieri, Sonig Tchakerian, Giuliano Carmignola, Pietro de Maria, Elisso Virsaladze and Danusha Waskiewicz. She has studied with maestro Antonello Farulli and maestro Bruno Giuranna She has played in the O.J. Andalucia, in the Swedish National Orchestra Academy, the Orchestra Regionale Toscana, the Bologna philharmonic orchestra, the L. Cherubini youth orchestra and the Wiener Jeunesse Orchester. She has played for conductors Riccardo Muti, Andrej Boreyko, Ascher Fisch, Russell Davies, John Axelrod, Mario Brunello, Wayne Marshall, Alexander Lonquich and Pascal Rophé.
